The organizers of the museum exposition were guided by the thematic-chronological principle, their goal being to reconstruct a chronicle of the crimes
of the Communist regime and to establish events and facts that can never be forgotten if Ukrainians
aspire to build a civil society in Ukraine based on the principles of democracy and humanism.
The idea to create the exposition was initiated by the head of the Kyiv City Organisation of
the All Ukrainian Memorial Society of V. Stus,
Roman Krutsyk who planned the layout of the panels and the exposition's
overall design.
The historian, professor, and the head of the scholarly council of the Memorial Society
Dr. Yurii Shapoval, elaborated the plans for the exposition, prepared the texts, selected documents and illustrated materials

About the exposition
The poster version of the exposition “Not To Be Forgotten: A Chronicle of the
Communist Inquisition in Ukraine 1917.1991” was jointly produced and financed
by the Kyiv City Organization of the All Ukrainian Memorial Society of Vasyl Stus
and Ukrainian diaspora organizations in the U.S. and Canada.
The set of posters and educational handbook have been published in order to
honor the memory of the victims of the catastrophic Famine-Genocide in Ukraine
and to inform the Ukrainian and world communities about this little-known page
from the tragic history of Ukraine during the Communist period. The materials
presented here are designed to vanquish historical and political myths created by
the Soviet totalitarian regime and to fill in the blank spots in Ukraine's history.
